On the 9th and 10th of February the partners of The EU Player Project gathered in Dublin, thanks to Finglas Youth Resource Centre, for an exciting meeting after one year of development and hard work, to look at what we created but also to look forward to the next steps. The project is entering the more active phase and there was much news to discuss.

The first step was to finally have a look at the functioning prototype of the board game, “Europe United”, developed in collaboration with our local game-design company “Red Glove”. It was an exciting moment to show the game, all the elements, and the game play to the partners, and to brainstorm the final changes in order to complete the development phase. We also reviewed the final version of the handbook and discussed the proper translations for it, so we had the opportunity to look at two of our main outputs that are almost complete.

But it was also time to look ahead: first we outlined a defined communication strategies for the upcoming year, a fundamental step for the promotion and the dissemination of the project. Then, we opened the next main topic: the “International Train the Trainers” is approaching, and it will be hosted by Zefiro in Lucca from the 25th to the 28th of March, culminating in a presentation of the board game at “Collezionando”. So we also discussed logistics and the program of the upcoming training with excitement, and we were all very happy to move into the next phase of the project.
The EU Player project goal is to enhance young people’s knowledge of the European Union and foster a sense of belonging. Targeting youth aged 13 to 20, the initiative uses gamification to create engaging learning experiences. By participating, young people will transform from EU Players to EU Ambassadors, advocating for EU values within their communities.
