EU PLAYER
Zefiro is taking part in a three-year European Project titled “EU Player”. Starting in 2024 and ending in 2027, Eu Player is funded by Erasmus+ KA220-YOU- “Cooperation partnerships in youth” and the main goal is to create an innovative and interactive learning experience for youngsters and young adults to learn about the European Union and spark their interest. The project is born from the assessment from previous projects and researches that shows a significant absence in the educational path of young people of opportunities to learn about European institutions in an effective way, and the need to foster their active citizenship. As a secondary target it also aims at helping educators provide new innovative learning experiences rooted in the “Game Based Learning” and “Gamification” theory and support them in making EU topics more relevant and appealing.
Project Partners:
The Project is coordinated by the German organization YES Forum, and alongside Zefiro there are 4 more partners:
IEKEP (Greece)
Nevo Parudimos (Romania)
ÖJAB (Austria)
Finglas Youth Resource Centre (Ireland)
Objectives and outputs:
The project goal is to improve young people’s knowledge of the European Union and their sense of belonging, focusing on those aged 13 to 20. By promoting game-based learning, it engages both young individuals and educators in a dynamic and inclusive way. The initiative tackles euroscepticism by guiding participants on a journey from being EU Players to becoming EU Ambassadors, empowered to share what they have learned through local and international activities. The shift from analog to digital tools supports broader outreach and ensures the project’s long-term sustainability.
The main outputs of the project are going to be:
A board game (developed by a professional game design company)
A handbook that will include: “game based learning” and “gamification” theories, pills about how the European Union function, and a series of practical examples/activities on how to deliver innovative learning experiences.
A six months period of piloting the game in schools and different informal learning environments through workshops.
A final one-week long meeting/festival for the best players hosted in Romania.
